Chair-sniffing leader

The alternative Premier of Western Australia sniffed the chair of a female staffer. He admitted it today at a media conference.

I don’t believe the sort of bloke who sniffs chairs should be running his own party, let alone the state.

It’s the type of larrikan behavior the class clown might have got up to in secondary school, but not a responsible adult.

Buswell has said he will not stand down as Liberal leader.

Mr Buswell has previously admitted to snapping a Labor staffer’s bra as a drunken party trick and has been accused by retiring Liberal MP Katie Hodson-Thomas of making sexist remarks to her.

There was some good news for Buswell. Deputy Liberal leader Kim Hames has stood by him, describing him as a “rough diamond with a robust sense of humor”.

Dr Hames said his leader needed to change his behaviour, but also acknowledged there was no one to replace him.

So Mr Buswell is the Liberal leader by default; nobody else wants the job.
