Solar power worth firing up

The WA Government has announced a $13 million solar power station development in Kalgoorlie.
It will be the nation’s first solar power station connected to a main grid, producing 1.77 megawatts of electricity for about 500 homes.
Kalgoorlie is a logical place to trial something like this given its abundance of sunshine. It’s an expensive project though to produce relatively little power.
Alan Carpenter should be thinking nuclear
He has again ruled out uranium mining though, strangely so given the changing political reality within the Labor Party and in Canberra.
